At AFTER EIGHT® we know great chocolate starts from great cocoa. That is why the Nestlé Cocoa Plan is so important to us.
The Nestlé Cocoa Plan is committed to creating a positive impact and is currently working in collaboration with nearly 180 000 cocoa farming families.
The cocoa we use to create our deliciously minty chocolate thins is sourced through the Nestlé Cocoa Plan and independently certified by the Rainforest Alliance or verified through the program, which works to promote good agricultural practices. The Nestlé Cocoa Plan, launched in 2009, operates in 11 cocoa-producing countries, engaging more than 180,000 cocoa-farming families and building on three pillars: Better Farming, improving livelihoods in communities; Better Lives, helping improve social conditions for cocoa families; and Better Cocoa, improving product traceability and certification. It helped to build the Child Labour Monitoring Remediation System (CLMRS) in partnership with the International Cocoa Initiative (ICI).
We follow a mass balance approach, which means that the total quantity of cocoa purchased from these certified or verified farms is equivalent to the total amount used in manufacturing your AFTER EIGHT®
