NESTLE ECUADOR HELPS FARMERS TO IMPROVE THEIR COCOA CROPS' PRODUCTIVITY

The cocoa pruning is an agricultural practice that consists on removing branches and unproductive shoots in order to give the plant a better formation of the cup and stimulates the appearance of buds, flowers and fruits. The pruning types are: training, phytosanitary, maintenance and rehabilitation.

On December, 250 cocoa farmers from Manabí, Guayas and Los Rios provinces received a practical training on cocoa maintenance pruning supported by Nestlé field technicians, with the goal of increasing the cocoa farms’ productivity and revenues.
